IRIS light Addressable Fire Systems - Calculating the Loop Length

Installing a fire alarm system in big business, public or trade offices is an important clause for the contractors and for legalizing officially the building sites. The properly selected and mounted fire detectors, devices and sirens can save men’s life and also protect expensive equipment from fatal damage.

The electronics calculator IRIS light is a useful tool for calculating the length for every single loop in the system according the number and the type of the detectors and devices included in the project.

In addition, the constructor can easily calculate the value of the admissible minimum cable cross section if the total loop length is known.

IMPORTANT NOTES: For proper calculations it has to be considered that the total number of the used remote indicators in the system should be less or equal to the number of the user addressable bases.
The devices which are not used in the particular system must be introduced with "0".

The calculations are applicable for copper cables only. The calculated length and cross section of the cable concern one loop of the system.
